ABOUT THE INDUSTRIAL MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
The Industrial Manufacturing Technician (IMT) Apprenticeship is a competency-based statewide program that upgrades the entry-level skills of production workers. Program requirements include 200 non-working hours of online curriculum and 2,000-hours of on-the-job training. It leverages instruction from the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) through online courses, delivered on Amatrol’s eLearning platform. Courses are interactive and feature state-of-the-art e-learning simulation and technologies and the curriculum is nationally recognized as an industry standard for entry level manufacturing training.
Trains Workers to:Set up, operate, monitor, and control production equipment.
Help improve manufacturing processes and schedules to meet customer requirements.
Understand manufacturing as a business system that integrates multiple disciplines, processes, and stakeholders.
Efficiently and safely manage raw materials/consumables.
The IMT Program was registered through a collaborative sector strategy approach led by the FloridaMakes Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Leadership Council (AMWLC), industry representatives, CareerSource Florida, the Florida Department of Education’s Division of Career and Adult Education, and the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC).
