SAMA Committees

As a member of SAMA, you have the opportunity to get involved within various aspects of the association.  We need your support to make an impact within our manufacturing community, and joining one or more of our committees is a great way to do this.

Advocacy (NEW!) – Emphasizing the importance of manufacturing with our elected officials at the local, state, and national level.  Speaking for the manufacturing sector as a whole, working in the best interest of the manufacturer and influencing changes within our educational system.  Nate Yoder of Mullet’s Aluminum is chairing this committee.

Events (NEW!) – At minimum, SAMA hosts one event per month and quite often, two or three events.  Scheduling, coordination, and execution will all be more efficient with a group of members rather than by an individual.  A golf sub-committee will be formed, and possibly a second major annual event such as a clay-shoot will be discussed.  Aaron Laine of RND Automation is chairing this committee.

Membership – SAMA has tripled its membership in 1.5 years and continued growth takes strategy and effort.  Keeping existing members in the know and making new members feel welcome are all apart of this. This could not have been done without our membership committee members.

Workforce – With a focus of getting 5th thru 12th graders excited about a career in manufacturing, our workforce development committee has made great strides.  Having CTE Directors from both Sarasota and Manatee County Schools guide us, resource partners lending their expertise, and manufacturing members share ideas on involvement with students and educators, we are seeing the impact.
