SAMA Statement of Privacy (Last updated: November 2001)
SAMA is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information on our Web sites and developing technology that gives you the most powerful, safe, online experience. By using SAMA, you consent to the data practices described in this statement. If you have questions about this Privacy Statement or the protection of your personal information on SAMA Web sites, please write us at privacy@SAMA.com.
Collection of your Personal Information
SAMA explicitly asks when it needs information that personally identifies you (“Personal Information”) pertinent to the specific product or service you are choosing to use or subscribe to on the SAMA web sites. This information can include your e-mail address, name, address, telephone number, and credit card number, as applicable. SAMA also may ask for non-personal information or demographic information. Currently, SAMA also collects personal information through the use of offline telesales operations. The information collected during the use of telesales may be merged with personal information you have previously shared with this Web site and is used in accordance with this Privacy Statement.
Use of your Personal Information
SAMA and our affiliates and service partners use your personal information to operate the SAMA site and to provide the SAMA services you have requested. The information is also used to communicate with you regarding your SAMA accounts by sending out periodic newsletters that are considered as essential to the operation of the service. We use your e-mail address as your service username. We chose this since this ensures that everyone has a unique username and the username is easy to remember. We also use your e-mail address to respond to incoming service and support requests from you, to collect customer feedback, customer satisfaction surveys, sweepstakes notices, and other service informational mailings. We ask for your postal address because some of our services require a mailing address so that we can completely perform the service. For example, we need your postal address for our Referral service so that we can mail you checks for the money you earn from referral programs. We may also use this information for credit card validation.
SAMA may disclose your Personal Information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on XL Technologies, LLC, SAMA or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of XL Technologies, LLC; SAMA, the site or the users of SAMA; or, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of XL Technologies, LLC, SAMA, the site or the public.
Personally identifiable information collected by SAMA may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which XL Technologies, LLC or its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities, and by using this site, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country.
Sharing your Personal Information with Other Companies Except as otherwise described in this statement, SAMA will share your personal information with other companies only with your consent. For example, when subscribing to a service, which involves a third party to facilitate the service your personal information will be shared. Credit Card Processing, for example, provides your contact information to our Card Processing partners only with your consent so they can process your transactions. Without this relationship, we could not provide its service to you. These uses of personal information are primary to the operation of the site.
We occasionally hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, such as packaging and delivering purchases and other mailings, providing customer service, performing statistical analysis of our services, or providing other essential elements of the site. We will only provide those companies the personal information they need to deliver the product or service, and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose. For example, SAMA shares your personal information with third parties to collect and merge your personal information into your SAMA profile for an improved and personalized customer experience on this Web site. Control of your Personal Information
As part of your participation in any of the SAMA services, SAMA allows you to elect to receive certain information and e-mail from SAMA and its service partners. There are two types of information sent to SAMA, customers: 1) account specific information; and, 2) promotional and customer feedback information.
Account specific communications include information that is essential for the SAMA service to operate properly. This includes the initial welcome mail describing features and guides to a particular service. It also includes any communications describing any changes or updates to a particular service or billing schedule. Because account specific communications are essential to providing the customer with the most current information on SAMA services these types of communications will be sent to all SAMA customers when appropriate. These types of communications are considered an essential part of the service for which you have signed-up for and you will not be able to unsubscribe from such mailings.
Promotional and customer feedback information includes special promotional offers, sweepstakes, contests, and/or customer surveys. For this type of information, the customer has the ability to opt-in or opt-out from receiving this type of information. The customer also has the ability to change their opt-in/out preferences at any time, either by changing their personal information, described in the next section, or by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in each mailing.
Please be aware that this Privacy Statement and the choices you make on this site will not necessarily apply to personal information you may have provided to XL Technologies, LLC in the context of other, separately operated, XL Technologies, LLC products or services.

Use of Web Beacons
SAMA pages may contain electronic images known as Web beacons, sometimes called single-pixel gifs that allow SAMA to count users who have visited those pages and to deliver co-branded services. SAMA may include web beacons in promotional e-mail messages or SAMA Newsletters in order to count how many messages have been opened and acted upon. Web beacons are not used to access your personally identifiable information on the SAMA network of sites and services; they are a technique we use to compile aggregated statistics about SAMA Web site usage.
Web beacons collect only a limited set of information including a cookie number, time and date of a page view, and a description of the page on which the Web beacon resides. SAMA Web pages may also contain Web beacons placed there by our advertising partners to help SAMA determine the effectiveness of our Internet advertising campaigns.
